ACCIDENT OCCURRED AS VEH1 WAS NORTHBOUND IN THE DRIVING LANE AND VEH2 WAS NORTHBOUND IN THE PASSING LANE OVERTAKING VEH1. VEH1 WAS SLOWING DOWN AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT INTO THE MEDIAN CROSSOVER. VEH2 STRUCK THE REAR OF VEH1. VEH1 CROSSED THE SOUTHBOUND LANES OF I-35, TRAVELED OFF THE WEST SIDE OF I-35, AND CAME TO REST IN THE DITCH ON ITS WHEELS FACING WEST. VEH2 CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT SHOULDER OF NORTHBOUND I-35. ASSISTED BY CLINTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT.
Chan’s injuries were moderate.
Chan was taken by Tri-County Ambulance to Liberty Hospital.
Chan was in vehicle #1, a 2019 Hyundai Elantra.
Chan was a driver. The police said the damage to the 2019 Hyundai Elantra was extensive. Regarding removal of the vehicle, the police said: Towed By/To Scotty’S Towing Of Cameron.

Sgt R A Sherman of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 220527661 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report. Certification is required for court.
The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
